As a wedding photographer I often find myself immersed in beautiful, historical locations and Woolaton Hall & Deer park is certainly a jewel in Nottingham's crown.

I had never been to Woolaton Hall  before so when Shannon & Dan suggested here for their engagement shoot I was, pretty excited, probably a little too much. Despite the typical March weather the Hall looming over us and the wind trying to join the party, the surrounding parklands were the perfect place for an engagement shoot.

Even with the hustle and bustle of easter weekend the we were able to find some quiet spots to relax and get some stunning images for the session. I will certainly be returning with Percy the dog for walks in the future.

Location is crucial to creating those beautiful engagement photos and memories When choosing a location for your engagement shoot, opt for places that resonate with you both and reflect your personalities. It could the venue of your wedding, the place where you first met or somewhere you've dreamed of going together but never had the chance.

TOP TIP

When considering location of your shoot remember to keep in mind the season and the potential weather that you could face. For example, in winter a well covered forest may be great to stop the rain falling but may also be extremely muddy and not suitable for couples who prefer a more formal shoot, if the outdoors life and mud is your thing, let's put on our wellies and go for it!

Above all it is important to relax and have fun! My style of photography is natural and romantic. I will not direct you on every pose and prefer to give prompts  so that the look remains natural and allows your personality to shine through.  A relaxed and joyful atmosphere will result in much more authentic and romantic images.
